Do I need an appointment?
Answer: Our reports do not expire. However, as gemstones can be re-cut, damaged, or undergo new treatment processes over time, we recommend a Re-examination if the report is several years old to ensure the data reflects the current state of the stone.
How long does the testing take?
Answer: Standard turnaround time is typically 2-3 business days. For clients requiring urgent results, we offer an Express Service (subject to an additional fee) which allows for same-day or next-day pickup depending on the complexity of the stone.
What is a “GEMFOLIO™” report, and how does it differ from other reports?
Answer: The GEMFOLIO™ is our highly recommended, refined report for single loose gemstones, providing verified identification and origin with secure digital authentication for everyday confidence. It differs from our Full Gemmological Report, which is a comprehensive A4 document featuring advanced analytical findings and AI-assisted assessments. While GEMFOLIO™ offers a modern, efficient solution for standard verification, the Full Report serves as the ultimate standard specifically designed for high-value transactions and professional trade assurance.
Do your gemological reports have an expiration date?
Answer: Our reports do not expire. However, as gemstones can be re-cut, damaged, or undergo new treatment processes over time, we recommend a Re-examination if the report is several years old to ensure the data reflects the current state of the stone.
Can you test gemstones that are already set in jewelry?
Answer: Yes, we offer comprehensive testing services for gemstones set in jewelry (mounted stones). However, a complete analysis is subject to the setting style and the visibility of diagnostic features required for a conclusive result. For advanced analyses—such as origin determination—unobstructed observation is required, which may make it necessary to unmount the stone. Please note that for mounted stones, carat weight is provided as an estimation, and the setting itself may limit our ability to accurately evaluate clarity and color. For the highest level of precision, we strongly recommend submitting unmounted stones.
